Reading this, you’re probably interested in climbing Kilimanjaro on the Lemosho Route. The Lemosho route is widely considered to be the best route on hiking / climbing Mount Kilimanjaro Reputable operators prefers Lemosho route due to its beauty, remoteness and success rate. In short, it maximizes the chances that a climber will reach the summit, and enjoy the experience overall. The Lemosho route can be done in as little as six days (five nights) on the mountain. However, it is ideally tackled over eight days (seven nights) for a better altitude acclimatization schedule With eight days (seven nights) on the mountain, your chances of reaching the top are very high, around 90% and 8 days 7 nights is highly recommended for photographic trekking

Expectation on Lemosho Route

While climbing Mount Kilimanajaro via Lemosho Route expect the following:

Summiting to the highest Mountain in Africa and highest free standing volcanic in the world, 19,341 feet

Natural forest, with unique vegetation with respect to other places

Different 4 zones, e.g. human settlement, forest mountain area, moorland, alpine desert, ice area.

Lava tower, valley, crater, glaciers, big rocks, rivers, unique sunrise and sunset, unique photographic ground.

Birds species (white napped raven, alpine chat, stripes seedeater, llama gayer, amethyst sunbird, dusky turtle dove, variable sunbird)

Day 1: Arrival and Pick Up

Day 2: Move to Marangu route

At 6:00AM after breakfast drive to Marangu gate for 4hrs (85km)

At 11:00AM check in and luggage weighing

At 12:00 noon lunch box/ hot at the gate

At 1:00PM departure from the main gate to Mandara camp for 3 to 4hrs (8Km)

At 5:30PM warm water for body sponge, at the camp you can see some monkeys & birds

At 6:00PM Coffee / Tea / popcorn.

At 6:30PM dinner

At 7:30PM next day briefing and ready for sleeping.

Day 3: Move from Mandara hut to Horombo hut Day

At 6:00AM morning call / bird tea / coffee

At 6:30AM warm water for body sponge

At 7:00AM breakfast

At 8:00AM move from Mandara hut to Horombo hut 5 to 6hrs (11Km)

On the way to Horombo Hut you will visit to Mahundi crater.

At 2:30PM lunch box / hot lunch at the camp

At 3:30PM photo taking & resting around the camp

At 6:00PM warm water for body sponge

At 6:30PM tea/ coffee/ popcorn

At 7:00PM dinner

At 8:00PM next day briefing

Day 4: Move from Horombo Hut to Zebra Rock (walking & photographic)

At 6:30AM morning call / bird tea / coffee

At 7:30AM breakfast

At 8:00AM move from Horombo Hut to Zebra Rock for 4 to 5 hrs.

At 1:00PM return to Horombo hut for hot lunch

At 2:30PM photo taking & resting around the camp

At 8:00PM next day briefing

Day 5: Move from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

At 8:00AM move from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut for 4 to 5Hrs (10Km)

At 1:00PM lunch box / hot lunch at Kibo hut

At 8:00PM next day briefing

Day 6: Move from Kibo Hut to around Mawenzi Peak (highly recommended for photographic)

At 8:00AM move from Kibo Hut to around Mawenzi Peak for 3 to 4hrs.

At 1:30PM lunch box / hot lunch at the camp

At 8:00PM summit day briefing

Day 7: Move from Kibo Hut to the summit

At 7:00AM photo taking around the summit for 5 to 30 minutes.

At 7:30AM descending to Kibo Hut for 2 to 3hrs (5.4Km)

At 11:30AM breakfast and light food

At 12:30PM Descending to Horombo Hut for 4 to 5hrs (10Km)

At 6:00PM warm water for body sponge

Day 8: Move from Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
